Objectives
Puget Sound Clean Air Agency enforces air quality regulations and educates people and businesses about clean-air choices in a jurisdiction covering four counties and 3.4 million people. The Agency’s redesigned Web site needs to support a new outreach emphasis to engage partners who can help the Agency influence clean air choices and behaviors.
Our Strategy and Approach
InfoAdvantage provides consultation and technical expertise to the Agency’s Web Team to develop an effective Work Plan and guide successful Web site:
- Needs Analysis. We facilitated work sessions using InfoAdvantage planning tools to help clarify the Agency’s vision, business objectives and target project benefits to support its regulatory and community outreach goals.
- Review Benchmarks and Best Practices. We researched and reviewed with the Web Team industry benchmarks and best practices that identify opportunities to enhance the Agency’s redesigned Web site.
- Develop Internet Strategy. We collaborated with the Agency to develop and adopt Internet Strategies that would guide the design, development, management, and marketing of the redesigned site. We then helped with preparing the presentations to organization leaders and internal stakeholders.
- Content Planning. We facilitated work sessions to design content, identify appropriate links and resources for each of the key content areas
- Web Site Work Plan. We collaborated with the Agency to develop a detailed Work Plan outlining the scope, resources needed, timeline, responsibilities, and deliverables of each component in the entire process from design, site production, tools development, search engine optimization, content managers training, deployment, to PR/marketing activities for launch.
- Information Architecture, Usability and Navigation Design, and Content Design. Using InfoAdvantage’s Web RoadmapTM methodology, we identified and created messaging for target audiences, Site Map, Content Plan, navigation schematics, and Style Guide. We assisted in obtaining feedback from content managers, and provided copy writing and editing as needed.
- Web Site Production. We provided project and technical consultation on site production, reviewed and provided recommendations for the site’s graphic templates, and developed the HTML templates and Cascading Style Sheets to ensure that the site meets the Agency’s Web Standards and Accessibility Requirements.
Outcome
The Agency adopts the Internet strategy and Work Plan which guides the site’s design and development, and uses the HTML templates and style sheets to create Web pages that meet the stated Web standards.
